Mars 2020 Visualization

Summer 2018

Mentor: Marc Pomerantz

Developed 3D visualization software for Mars 2020 rover mission Entry, Descent, Landing (EDL) sequence. Created landing sequence visualization of real-time telemetry data using an in-house browser-based 3D engine. Optimized loading of large 3D model files (COLLADA format) to ~6x the previous speed, released to all NASA visualization apps here.

Psychology of Beat Perception

2017

Mentor: Ani Patel

Research on rhythmic beat perception. Psychological responses to rhythmically ambiguous patterns are not well-studied. We aimed to characterize the response to this phenomena, and so we designed stimuli that contain these measurable, rhythmic variances. These stimuli can be used to measure windows of questionable beat-perception. We hope that this project will shed light on whether perception to rhythmic regularity is categorical or continuous.
